Description:  “Beau was a seemingly happy boy and very loved by his person.  Sadly, Beau’s owner passed away.  He has been staying at a foster home and Beau is a very quiet dog.  Loves nothing more than having his very own quiet spot, preferably a bed.  Bonus points if he has a window in his spot.  He gets along with the other afghans well and really just wants nothing more than a quiet home.  He keeps to himself for the most part, but does enjoy being petted and hugged.  He is beautiful with silky hair.  He is in short coat right now, but has long soft hair on his topknot.  He just had a senior panel blood test which was normal and he had a dental.  He is ready to be someone’s sweet boy.”  .

Location: Foster care / Cooper is amazing and ready for his forever home!

Description: Cooper came to AHRSC through Paws Rescue Qatar.  The Rescue there told us he is most likely an ex-racer.  Cooper turned up outside the gates of the shelter Paws Rescue Qatar with his bestie. They were nervous and only wanted food, both were very skinny, and given our shelter location out in the desert, they had been dumped. We fed them until they felt safe enough to enter our walls and we were able to put collars on them. After health checks and food, they fit right in. His friend was adopted locally, but when he opportunity came for Cooper, we flew him out to find his forever family. He’s a shy boy to start, but friendly, playful, good with other dogs he has met with us at the shelter. Cooper is neutered, microchipped and tested negative for the usual tick/flea-borne diseases. He is a very sweet and fun-loving dog!  A typical Saluki type, graceful, energetic yet the ultimate in sofa accessories. Hope he finds his forever home soon. Good luck sweet boy. With love from your Qatar family xx

UPDATE: FIRST NIGHT at AHRSC’s Foster Care:  Cooper’s first night in foster care. He was flawless with his potty manners. Asking to go out when he needed to. He had a nest on the couch of blankets and pillows, but went in search of me in the night. BOY, was he happy when he found me. He jumped on the bed and did a body slam on my face, flea bites and kisses. Then tried to roll over on his back… on my face. He was so happy. He found the perfect spot on the pillows and I covered him. That’s where he slept all night. No snoring, no kicking, just sleep. What a snuggler and a very cool dude. .

Breed: Afghan Hound

Sex: Male

Color: Black

Age:. 5 1/2 years

Location:  Foster Care

Description:  This gorgeous boy is up for adoption due to limitations of aging owners. From what we can gather…the dog had some receding gums and was going to need weekly brushing and daily applications of a special gel to his gums. Owner did want to do that so she had his teeth pulled.  Noah is a very big boy and is neutered and housebroken. He no longer has teeth but he eats kibble fine along with small dogs treats.  Noah is sweet, not shy and gets along with other dogs although he prefers his people. He likes to chase cats but it does not seem like he would harm them.  A strong cat would probably put him in his place.  Noah is very easy to walk and enjoys one on one time.  His coat texture is easier to groom than most Afghans Hounds. This is one beautiful boy ready for the rest of his life with his new Family!
